The Council of Europe Project “Improving electoral practice in the Republic of Moldova” is supporting the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) in organising a public consultation to collect opinions and suggestions from different stakeholders, including public institutions, political parties and civil society representatives, as well as national experts in these fields within the process of alignment of the secondary electoral legislation to the provisions of the new Electoral Code, recommendations of the Venice Commission and of the International Election Observation Missions. During the consultation held on 24 March 2023, the participants made several proposals aimed at improving the draft regulations pertaining to the State Register of the Voters and to drawing up, administrating, disseminating, and updating of the voters’ rolls. Following the consultations, the CoE experts jointly with CEC will analyse these proposals before submitting them to the CEC members for their final approval. |
