The Committee of Ministers adopts a landmark legal standard on multilevel policies and governance for intercultural integration
The Council of Europe Committee of Ministers adopted by consensus Recommendation CM/Rec(2022)10 on multilevel policies and governance for intercultural integration. This is the second international standard in this field following the adoption back in 2015 of CM/Rec(2015)1 on intercultural integration, and the first ever co-drafted by representatives of local and national authorities within the framework of the Working Group on Intercultural Integration (GT-ADI-INT).

Cities4Cities: a new matchmaking platform to support Ukrainian local and regional authorities

The Council of Europe Congress has launched a new matchmaking online platform, Cities4Cities, developed to help Ukrainian cities. The platform is a free online exchange tool; it allows local authorities in Ukraine and in the rest of Europe to share their needs and offers related to local infrastructure and get in direct contact to receive practical help.

On 27 April the ICC programme organised a webinar on "Intercultural approach to Roma and Travellers inclusion for the local level". Prepared in co-ordination with the Council of Europe’s Roma and Travellers team, the webinar presented the experience of municipal representatives and Roma and Traveller activists in using some of the Council of Europe’s best practice.

Progress report on the work of the municipal administration of Montreal to fight against systemic racism and systemic discrimination
An important public consultation on systemic racism and discrimination was conducted by the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM) between 2018 and 2020. It resulted in the publication in June 2020 of a report on systemic racism and systemic discrimination in the jurisdictions of the City of Montreal.

On 1 March 2022, the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva published a study aimed at identifying monuments and symbols in the public space of the City of Geneva that refer to personalities who have promoted racism, in particular anti-black racism, colonialism or slavery.
