40th meeting of the Joint Council on Youth

A spirit of shared purpose and commitment reigned in the meeting of the Joint Council on Youth (CMJ) when it met in Budapest. After an exchange with the Director of Democratic Participation, the CMJ turned its attention to the full agenda.
Celebrating the achievements of Europe’s leading human rights organisation!
The members of the Joint Council on Youth (CMJ), meeting in Budapest for the 40th meeting, took the opportunity to celebrate the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe.
Crown Prince of Norway visits the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg
During his official visit to the Council of Europe on 18 March 2019, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Norway spent time in the European Youth Centre.
HRH meets young people at the EYCS
His Royal Highness showed a keen interest in the non-formal educational and training policies of the Council of Europe’s youth sector and was delighted to hear about Norway’s commitment towards the youth sector since the 1960’s.

Marttinen Youth Centre, Finland, Council of Europe Quality Label laureate
Marttinen Youth Centre in Finland awarded with the Council of Europe Quality Label for Youth Centres

The Marttinen Youth Centre in Virrat, Finland received the Council of Europe’s Quality Label for Youth Centres for the period 2019-2021 and became the 13th youth centre to be honoured.
New Publication: Quality Label for Youth Centres – Role, Value and Impact Brochure
The Youth Department's new brochure describes the benefit of youth centres awarded with the Council of Europe’s Quality Label for Youth Centres and how they contribute to quality youth work and the youth sector at large.

News from the European Youth Foundation
The EYF travelled to Brussels on 25-26 February to run information sessions for representatives of international youth NGOs, addressing specific questions relating to grant applications.

In March, the EYF also travelled to Slovenia and Albania to organise an information/training event in co-operation with the relevant ministries responsible for youth in both countries.

The deadline to submit grant applications for 2020 annual work plans and international activities taking place between 1 January and 30 June 2020 is 1 April 2019. The next cut-off date for pilot activity applications is 12 May 2019. 
EU Youth Conference
3 members of the Pool of European Youth Researchers, managed by the EU-CoE youth partnership, supported the work of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council.
They were involved in the EU Youth Conference on 25-28 March in Bucharest, Romania, which mainly focused on the link between the EU Youth Dialogue and the objectives set by EU Youth Strategy (2019-2027), in particular goal no. 7 “quality employment for all”.
