The use of artificial intelligence in Council of Europe texts

The Council of Europe recognises the utility of artificial intelligence (AI) applications as tools for research, translation and drafting, and at the same time strives to respect intellectual property rights. In the interest of transparency, and in accordance with publishing industry standards, the use of these tools must be clearly stated by authors, and any passages drafted or translated by generative AI must be indicated, with the name of the tool used.
