The Council of Europe nominated new Honorary Ambassador of the Santiago de Compostela Pilgrim Routes
On 24 October, the Council of the Galician Government (Xunta de Galicia) appointed the Council of Europe as the new Honorary Ambassador of the Santiago de Compostela Pilgrim Routes.
Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe: Cultural Routes programme presented at the 37th Session
On 30 October, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme was presented at the 37th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe by Mr. Levan Kharatishvili (Georgia), Vice-Chair of the EPA Governing Board in the premises of the Council of Europe (Strasbourg).
The Compostela Group of Universities joins the University Network on Cultural Routes Studies
On 25 October, the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) joined the Network of Universities on Cultural Routes Studies through a General Framework Agreement of Collaboration with the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
Council of Europe: meeting of the Committee of the Member States of the EPA on Cultural Routes (programme and budget 2020-2021)
On 21 October, the Committee of the members States of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes (EPA) met in the premises of the Council of Europe (Palais de l’Europe, Strasbourg) to discuss the draft programme and budget for the biennium 2020-2021.
Cultural Routes network members: strong growth in the first half of 2019
The first half of 2019 saw a remarkable development in the number of network members, with 170 new members engaging in Route networks.
Committee of Ministers: EPA on Cultural Routes presented to the 47 member States (GR-C)
On 8 October, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme was presented on the occasion of the meeting of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers’ Rapporteur Group on Education, Culture, Sport, Youth and Environment (GR-C) at the Council of Europe Headquarters in Strasbourg.

On 2 October, the official Certification Ceremony for 5 new Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe took place during the 9th Cultural Routes Annual Advisory Forum at the Astra Museum in Sibiu, Romania.
2018 Awards for Cultural Tourism go to 4 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (9th Annual Advisory Forum, Sibiu, Romania)
On 2 October, at the opening dinner of the 9th Cultural Routes Annual Advisory Forum in Sibiu, Romania, 4 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe received the 2018 award for their “Best Practices in Cultural Tourism along the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe”.
European Route of Industrial Heritage: 15th Annual Conference and Certification Ceremony
On 16-18 October, the 15th European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH) Annual Conference “Industrial Heritage Tourism – It’s All in the Mix” took place at the German Technical Museum in Berlin, Germany.

Austria: meeting with Minister of Digital and Economic Affairs Elisabeth UDOLF-STROBL, President of the “Via Habsburg”
On 15 October, Mr. Stefano DOMINIONI, Executive Secretary of the EPA on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and Director of EICR was invited to meet with Mrs. Elisabeth UDOLF-STROBL, Federal Minister of Digital and Economic Affairs of Austria and President of the “Via Habsburg” Cultural Route of the Council of Europe in Vienna, Austria.

Georgia: meeting with the National Tourism Administration
On October 17, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and Vice-Chair of the EPA Governing Board Mr. Levan KHARATISHVILI hosted the Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Ms. Mariam KVRIVISHVILI with the aim to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Institutions.

On 11-12 October, the Routes of Impressionisms were omnipresent at the “Salon des Grands Voyages” which took take place at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris (France).
European Route of Ceramics: participation at the China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair
On 18-22 October, the European Route of Ceramics took part for the second year in the China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair held in Jingdezhen, People’s Republic of China.
European Routes of Emperor Charles V: meeting of the Spanish partners
On 22 October, the meeting of the Spanish partners of the European Routes of Emperor Charles V took place in Valladolid, Spain. The meeting was the occasion to explore new expansion strategies for the Route network.

“Paysage et patrimoine sans frontière” at EICR for a training session on Cultural Routes
From 14 to 18 October 2019, the European Institute of Cultural Routes hosted the association “Paysage et patrimoine sans frontière” for a training session supported by the Erasmus+ programme, around the colour blue as a possible theme for a Cultural Route.

On 26 September, the EPA Secretariat and EICR staff welcomed a Spanish delegation composed by journalists and representatives of the “Spanish Way” at the EICR Headquarters in Luxembourg.
“Historic Passages and Galleries in Europe” Cultural Route project: meeting in Luxembourg
On 28 October, the EPA Secretariat and EICR staff met with Mr. Olivier HAMALl, Mrs. Laure D’OULTREMONT and Mr. Alexandre GROSJEAN, representatives of the European Cultural Route project “Historic Passages and Galleries in Europe” at the EICR Headquarters in Luxembourg.
