Representatives of several governmental bodies and public institutions of Kazakhstan received a set of recommendations drawing on the provisions of the Istanbul Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.

The roundtable gathered around 12 representatives of Tajik civil society organisations. They discussed the challenges they face in their work in Tajikistan to prevent and combat violence against women and learned best practices from the State  Parties to Council of Europe Istanbul Convention.

In Ashgabat, a series of meetings enabled the Programme team to reach an agreement with Turkmen institutions regarding specific activities to be carried out in 2023 according to their needs.

Through concrete examples and practical exercises,  Uzbek  legal professionals were trained on European Standards in the fields of data protection and judicial independence and the related existing case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.

Around 200 legal professionals benefited from the exchange of experiences from Central Asian countries, Georgia, Armenia, India and South Korea on the challenges of the legal profession such as digitalisation, free legal aid and the development of professional training for lawyers.
