| | GRETA's third evaluation report on Portugal’s implementation of the Council of Europe’s anti-trafficking convention welcomes the development of Portugal’s policy and institutional framework to address trafficking in human beings, including the adoption of the fourth National Anti-trafficking Action Plan, the setting up of a new National Referral Mechanism for children, and the increased number of multi-disciplinary teams for the support and protection of victims. While welcoming the increase in investigations, prosecutions and convictions for human trafficking, GRETA is concerned that their number remains low compared to the number of identified victims and asks the authorities to take additional steps to ensure that human trafficking cases are investigated proactively, prosecuted and lead to effective sanctions. | | Read more › | |

| | In its third evaluation report on Norway, GRETA acknowleges steps taken to further develop Norway's legislative network relevant to action against human trafficking, including by adopting amendments to the Criminal Code and the immigration Regulation as well as by the adoption of the Transparency Act. According to the report, Norway should further ensure access to free legal aid to victims, in particular by a lawyer with experience in human trafficking cases. The report further urges the Norwegian authorities to facilitate access to state compensation for victims of trafficking in cases in which no criminal proceedings were instituted against the alleged perpetrator. | | Read more › | |
