"Cultural Route of the Council of Europe" certification cycle 2019-2020 is underway
This year, 8 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe undergo the process of regular evaluation. The call for applications for certifications as “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” for the 2019-2020 evaluation cycle is open until 16th September.
France: exhibition on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe
Between 17 June and 17 July, an exhibition on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe took place at the Ministry of Culture of France. The exhibition has been organised in the framework of the French Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
Turkey: coordination meeting with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
On 4 July, an information-sharing meeting was held in Istanbul between representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, the Via Eurasia Management Committee, the Route of Aeneas working group and several tourism associations.
The Hansa: 8th Training Academy on Cultural Routes hosted in Visby (Sweden)
From 4 to 7 June 2019 the Cultural Routes Training Academy was held in Visby, Sweden. The Hansa, Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, organised the event in collaboration with the European Institute of Cultural Routes and Region Gotland.

UNESCO: Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe presented at "Culture 2030 | Rural-Urban Development" conference (China)
From 10 to 12 June, the international conference “Culture 2030 | Rural-Urban Development: The Future of Historic Villages and Towns” was held in Meishan, Republic of China. At the invitation of the UNESCO, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe were presented in the framework of the Conference.

Luxembourg: Mondorf-les-Bains meets the European Route of Historic Thermal Towns
On 18 July, representatives of the European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA) met the staff of the administration of Mondorf-les-Bains to present the European Route of Historic Thermal Towns Cultural Route.
The European Institute of Cultural Routes receives the "Black Sea – Danubian Social & Economic Innovator" award (Romania)
On 31 May in the occasion of the European Maritime Day 2019, the European Institute of Cultural Routes received the “Black Sea – Danubian Social & Economic Innovator” award. The distinction was delivered to Mrs. Steliana COJOCARIU, representative of Romania to the EPA on Cultural Routes.
Luxembourg: the EIB Institute receives the EPA Executive Secretary
On 25 June, Mr. Francisco DA PAULA COELHO, Dean of the EIB Institute, received Stefano DOMINIONI, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes. The meeting at the EIB Institute Headquarters has been the occasion to discuss possible institutional synergies in the field of culture and cultural heritage. Mr. Da Paula Coelho had been previously invited at the “Heritage for Future” conference, which was hosted by the EICR on 3-4 December 2018.
Luxembourg: Deputy Permanent Representative of Austria visits the EPA Headquarters
On 28 June, Mr. Alexander WOJDA, Consul General of Austria and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe visited the EPA on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Headquarters in Luxembourg.
Luxembourg: representative of Luxinnovation received at the EICR
On 10 July, the EPA Secretariat and EICR staff met with Mrs. Sanna ALARANTA, Advisor for European R&D and Innovation Support to Luxinnovation, contact point for Horizon 2020 in Luxembourg.  The meeting was the occasion to discuss opportunities for the EICR and Cultural Routes in the framework of Horizon 2020, the main funding programme for research and innovation of the European Union.
Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe presented at the Slow Way Festival e BTRI (Italy)
On 16 June, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme was presented at the “Slow Way Festival e BTRI – Borsa Turismo Religioso Internazionale” in Assisi by Mr. Mauro MAIANI, representative of San Marino to the EPA on Cultural Routes.
Prehistoric Rock Art Trails: International Symposium in Georgia
On 16-17 July, the International Symposium “Prehistoric Rock Art in Europe-Georgia: from the site to the tourist uses” took place in Tbilisi. The event has been organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport and the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia.
Romea Strata, Cultural Route project: General Assembly of the European Association
On 25 June, the general Assembly of the European Association of Romea Strata was held in Aquileia, Italy. Within the framework of the Assembly, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme was presented by Mrs. Luisella PAVAN-WOOLFE, Head of the Venice Office of the Council of Europe.
European Route d'Artagnan, Cultural Route project: meeting in Luxembourg
On 18 July, the EPA Secretariat and EICR staff met with Mr. Alain LIBEROS and Mr. Audrey PARET, representatives of the European Route d’Artagnan at the EICR Headquarters.
