| In the loop | | - The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe organised, jointly with the national association of local authorities from Moldova, a webinar on "Advocacy for policy change - experiences of local government associations". Members of the Administrative Council of the Congress of Local Authorities of the Republic of Moldova (CALM) showed particular interest in the experience of peers in local self-government and territorial reforms.
- In its evaluation report, the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) has urged the Republic of Moldova to guarantee access to justice for victims of trafficking in human beings by ensuring that they receive specialised assistance and free legal aid at an early stage, information about their right to compensation, and protection from intimidation during or after investigations and court proceedings.
- Functionalities and capabilities of the new internal application for keeping management records “Anticamera” were presented by the Council of Europe experts to representatives of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova during teleconference on 03 December 2020.
- Trainers at the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova benefited from an online HELP training-of-trainers (ToT) held on the Human Rights Day. The ToT aimed at equipping the future trainers with the necessary skills to become an efficient tutor for the HELP courses.
- The European Union and Council of Europe Partnership for Good Governance 2019-2021 held its second Steering Committee meeting for the Republic of Moldova on 14 December 2020. The meeting aimed to present the state of implementation and the results of the Programme and discuss plans for 2021.
- 80 medical doctors and nurses of the prison system received certified training credits in three areas, identified by the National Administration of Penitentiaries as being of priority importance for the staff involved in the organisation and provision of healthcare services in prison: a) diseases control policies, b) quality management in medical institutions and c) human rights, communication and counselling in healthcare.
- The progress achieved in three pilot prisons on the implementation of Action Plans aimed at reorganising the management (prison no. 7 - Rusca - women, no. 10-Goian - young offenders, and prison no. 1-Taraclia - male prisoners) was assessed as part of final evaluation workshop, conducted online on 11 December 2020.
- Key aspects related to the possibility of creating daily centres as a format of probation services in the Republic of Moldova were presented and discussed in a two-day workshop.
