On 8 December 2021, high-level state
representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as officials from the Council of Europe and the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic highlighted the results of joint work on business integrity, combating corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing and agreed on co-operation priorities for the year of 2022.

More than 185 legal professionals learnt about the European Convention on Human Rights, the practice of the European
Court of Human Rights, European human rights standards in law enforcement, and the European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals in Central Asia through participation in webinars organised by the HELP in Central Asia in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan: First HELP course launched
Uzbekistan: First HELP course launched

On 30 March 2022, the launch of the HELP course “Rights of persons with disabilities” in Uzbekistan gathered judges, consultants and representatives of the Council of Europe and the OSCE Project Co-ordinator office. The course was developed for a group of 30 judges in Tashkent in co-operation with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator office in Uzbekistan and the High School of Judges under the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This course is available online for all interested on the HELP platform.

These were the focus of the two-day international round table "Reforms of the judiciary in Kazakhstan: Addressing new challenges by using best international practices”, held in Nur-Sultan in a hybrid format on 27-28 October 2021.
