Certification cycle 2020-2021 underway
The call for applications for certifications as “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” for the 2020-2021 Evaluation Cycle is now open until 31st July 2020.
Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Database now online
The Cultural Routes Database is an online platform hosting a structured and extensive database organizing all network members of the 38 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
Croatia: New Brochure on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe
The brochure aims at promoting cultural heritage represented by the certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe crossing Croatia, and contains information and contacts on their representatives and stakeholders.

Webinar: “Covid-19 and the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Impacts and Responses”
The aim of the initiative was to discuss the results of the survey sent to Cultural Routes by the Secretariat in order to evaluate the preliminary impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on networks, and the strategies put in place by the certified Cultural Routes to face this unprecedented situation.
Survey: Covid-19 and the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: impacts and responses
The survey is intended to collect information on how the pandemic is affecting Cultural Routes activities, the challenges they are facing and the measures they are taking in order to tackle them.

Europe Day 2020: EICR participates in online celebrations
On 9 May 2020, the European Institute of Cultural Routes took part in the online celebrations of Europe Day 2020 in Luxembourg with a greeting video and a short presentation of the 38 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
EICR participates in the CROSSDEV Project online conference
On 8 April, the European Institute of Cultural Routes presented the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme and its methodology during an online conference organized by representatives of the “Crossdev Project - Cultural Routes for Sustainable Social and economic Development in Mediterranean”.
Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe featured in EU-LAC Foundation Newsletter
Stefano Dominioni, Executive Secretary of the EPA on Cultural Routes, wrote in the European Union – Latin America and Caribbean (EU-LAC) Foundation Newsletter on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe as a means to provide a unique platform for shared European history and heritage.

Mid Sweden University is the 13th academic institution to join the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies.

Università della Svizzera italiana, member of the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies since 2019, released the online publication “Living Heritage and Sustainable Tourism”, featuring “Online communication strategies of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe” (De Ascaniis/Garbani-Nerini/Islas-Sedano/Cantoni).

250th Anniversary of Mozart in Italy (1770-2020)
The European Mozart Ways, certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe since 2004 launches the “Mozart in Italy” project, an initiative to recreate the route as a living history through crowdsourced content, facilitate awareness of this heritage and elevate collective morale during the current global pandemic.
World Art Nouveau Day
On 10 June, the Réseau Art Nouveau Network, certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe since 2014, will celebrate the World Art Nouveau Day with a photo contest dedicated to My Art Nouveau Archives.

On 12 May, the Cooperation Network of the European Routes of Emperor Charles V held its 2020 Governing Board as an online meeting.
Destination Napoleon strengthens its presence on the web
Destination Napoleon, certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe since 2015, launches a series of online initiatives aiming at responding to the constraints provoked by COVID-19.

On 22 April, the Cultural Foundation “The Routes of the Olive Tree” held the teleconference “Macro-regional strategies of the EU regarding the Adriatic & Ionian Region, Cultural Tourism and Regional Development: the Routes4U project, results & perspectives”.
