CEPEJ President and Member of the Bureau : Georg Stawa

Born in Vienna, Georg Stawa joined the Austrian judiciary in 1997 and became Judge in 1999.

He is working in the Ministry of Justice since 2001. He mainly focused on general coordination and organization, statistics, controlling, public relations and international affairs before becoming Head of Department for projects, strategy and innovation in 2010.

Beside participation in international research projects dealing with the evaluation and organisation of judicial systems, he was engaged in several justice reform projects in South-Eastern Europe in leading positions.

He has been a member of CEPEJ since 2004 and later of the working group CEPEJ-EVAL. A bureau-member since 2009 he was elected Vice-President of the CEPEJ in December 2010.

On 12 December 2014, at the 24th plenary meeting of the CEPEJ, he was elected President of the CEPEJ.

In 2017, he was appointed Mr Stawa as Secretary General of the Austrian Ministry of Justice. 

Since October 2010, Mr Stawa has been appointed Head of Department for Strategy, Consulting and Information Management at the Ministry of Constitutional Affairs, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice.
