Granting and withdrawal of consultative status to international non-governmental organisations

 

Communication of the

Secretary General

1. In accordance with Committee of Ministers Resolution (93) 38 on relations between the Council of Europe and international non-governmental organisations, the Secretary General communicated to the Committee of Ministers, on 13 January 2000 (CM(2000)8), and to the Parliamentary Assembly, on 29 September 1999 (doc 8550), the names of the international non-governmental organisations to which he had decided to grant consultative status.

2. In the absence of any objection founded on the conditions set out in paragraph 9 of the appendix to Resolution (93) 38, the decision of the Secretary General should be considered as a decision of the Committee of Ministers after a period of three months following this communication.

3. As no objection has been raised either by the Committee of Ministers or by the Parliamentary Assembly during this period, the following twenty international non-governmental organisations have been granted consultative status with the Council of Europe from 13 April 2000:

- Association of InterBalkan Women's Co-operation Societies (AIWCS);

- CIVICUS World Alliance for Citizen Participation;

- Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS);

- EUROPAN;

- European Association of Archaeologists (EAA);

- European Association of Psychotherapy (EPA);

- European Committee of Training Centres (FESET);

- European Council for Classical Homeopathy (ECCH);

- European Disability Forum (EDF);

- European Foundation Antonio Bana "IL NIBBIO" for Ornithological Research into Migrations and Natural Habitats Conservation (EFIN);

- European Law Students' Association (ELSA);

- European Migrants Forum (EMF);

- European Prison Education Association (EPEA);

- European Public Health Association (EPHA);

- European Ramblers' Association (ERA);

- Green Cross International (GCI);

- International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies (CIPSH);

- International Federation Terre des Hommes (FITDH);

- International Human Rights Organisations for the Right to Feed Oneself (FIAN);

- International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT).

4. At present, 407 NGOs enjoy consultative status with the Council of Europe.
