This free entry European cinema conference will look at the challenges for Russian producers to coproduce with other European countries. We’ll also reverse roles and look at the experiences of European producers who have coproduced with Russia. This conference is organized by the European Audiovisual Observatory, part of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and our Partners Nevafilm. We propose morning coffee from 9.00 to 9.30 and a finger food buffet afterwards.

10:10-11:10 Panel discussion: From both sides now! We will focus on film coproduction between Russia and other European countries.

The panel will aim at describing the state of play and foreseeable trends of Russian international coproduction based on the insights of experienced producers with international experience from Russia and the EU in order to answer some key questions: What is the added value for a local producer to work with international partners? Why are there so few international co-productions with Russia? What are the incentives for foreign producers to get involved in Russian projects? How is the situation likely to change in the near future?
