Action To appoint Mr Peter Torkler as a substitute member of the Committee in replacement of Mr Lubomir Plai. |
The Committee of Advisers for the Development of Transfrontier Co-operation in Central and Eastern Europe was renewed in its present composition by the Committee of Ministers at the 753rd meeting of the Deputies (23 May 2001).
The members’ term of office is three years, beginning 1 July 2001.
The members are nominated by the Secretary General, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe and member states, and either approved or elected as appropriate by the Committee of Ministers.
In respect of the Congress, titular and substitute members are nominated.
One substitute member on behalf of the Congress, Mr Lubomir Plai, resigned from the Committee due to his recent appointment to a position within the government administration of Slovakia. The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe nominated Mr. Peter Torkler to replace him.
The Committee of Ministers is requested to approve this nomination.

Decision
The Deputies approved the nomination of Mr Peter Torkler as substitute member of the Committee of Advisers for the Development of Transfrontier Co-operation in Central and Eastern Europe, in replacement of Mr Lubomir Plai, for a term of office expiring on 30 June 2004.
