Written Question No. 790 by Ms Laura Castel: “Compliance with Resolution 2513 (2023) “Pegasus and similar spyware and secret state surveillance” of the Parliamentary Assembly”

In Resolution 2513 (2023) “Pegasus and similar spyware and secret state surveillance”, the Parliamentary Assembly expressed its deep concern at the mounting evidence that Pegasus and similar spywares have been used illegally or for illegitimate purposes by several member States.

The Assembly urged five governments – Poland, Hungary, Greece, Spain and Azerbaijan – to provide information on their use of spywares within three months, to promptly and fully investigate all confirmed or alleged cases of abuse of spyware, to apply adequate sanctions and to provide redress to targeted victims.

To ask the Committee of Ministers:

Whether, or at what stage, those member States have complied with the requests of the Assembly in its Resolution 2513 (2023), given that the three-month deadline has now expired ?
