I. Opening of the judicial year 2011-2012: „New Civil Code  – a historical event in the development of Romanian law”

- Representatives of the institutions of judiciary: SCM, MoJ, HCCJ, POaHCCJ, NIM, NSC, presidents of CA, prosecutors general of POaCA;

- Representatives of the other powers: President of Romania, Prime-Minister, President of Senate, President of the Chamber of Deputies, President of Constitutional Court;

- Representatives of the organizations of liberal professions: National Bar Association, National Union of the Public Notaries, National Union of Bailiffs;

- Representatives of the professional associations of the magistrates, of the associations of  auxiliary personnel and of NGOs acting in the field of judiciary and human rights;

- Representatives of the Romanian Academy and of faculties of law;

- Representatives of the embassies in Romania and of EU Representation to Bucharest.

The event  is hosted  by HCCJ, SCM and Institute for Legal  Researches of the Romanian Academy.

The event will be followed, on 29 September, by an academic symposium on the history of civil regulation in Romania and the studies carried on by the Romanian Academy.

4 Symposium organized by the Romanian Academy – Institute for Legal Research: New Civil Code – a historical event in the development of Romanian law:

- conference Tradition and modernity in codifying the Romanian civil law,

- launch of the project of scientific research  „Theoretical explanations of the New Civil Code”,

- exposition of documents and books developed jointly with the Library of Academy  Romanian civil codes,

- launch of the book New Civil Code, developed under the coordination of Institute for Legal Researches

At the symposium will be invited to attend: the leading board of Romanian Academy, the Section for Economic, Legal and Sociological Sciences, directors of the Academy Institutes, representatives of Legislative Council, Superior Council of Magistracy, Ministry of Justice, Legal Commissions of Parliament, courts and prosecutors` offices, Legal Professionals Union in Romania, faculties of law  etc.

III. Press conference, organized by SCM in order to publicly launch:

-          the multiannual Action Plan of SCM for 2011-2016

-          the Strategy and Action Plan for strengthening the integrity of judiciary.

Within the Conference will be presented the most important aspects of the two strategic documents.

IV. Press conferences organized at the level of courts of appeals and tribunals on the entering into force of the New Civil Code

At local level – courts headquarters

Spokespersons will lecture on the implications of the enforcement of the new civil code and will distribute to mass media the booklets on the new civil code.

It is necessary to receive feedback from the spokespersons on the organized events and on the local media coverage of those events that will be reported back to CSM.

The booklets on the New Civil Code will be provided to citizens within the courts, by the actions of courts management.

V. Organizing „Open doors” events at the level of SCM, courts and prosecutors offices premises

- SCM shall be visited by groups of pupils, students, auditors of NIM in order to learn about the activities and competencies of SCM;

- Booklets about SCM, judicial and the New Civil Code will be distributed in printed form and also will be published in electronic form on the website of the institutions.

- Courts will receive the representatives of local NGOs and also groups of pupils and students.
