·      Examination, in view of its adoption, of the draft Opinion No. 12 entitled “The role of prosecutors in relation to the rights of victims and witnesses in criminal proceedings”

If there are any comments by the CCPE members on the substance of this document, it is requested that they are formulated in a concrete way and in a separate file and sent to the Secretariat as soon as possible, and before 6 November 2017.

7.            Working methods of the CCPE

·                     Election of the President and of the Vice-President of the CCPE for 2018

According to Resolution Res(2011)24, the CCPE shall proceed with the election of its President and Vice-President. The President and Vice-President are elected for a one-year period, renewable once.

 

Mr Peter McCORMICK (Ireland) and Mr José Manuel SANTOS PAIS (Portugal) were elected respectively as President and Vice-President of the CCPE for 2017. Their terms of office can be renewed for 2018.

Any member wishing to put forward his/her candidature for the position of President or Vice-President should inform the Secretariat about it before 23 November 2017, 12.00.

 

·                    Appointment of the CCPE Working Group for 2018

According to Resolution Res(2011)24 (“Where necessary, in order to expedite the progress of their work, committees may entrust a rapporteur or a limited number of committee members with a specific task to be fulfilled by their next meeting, using primarily information technologies”), the CCPE can decide to set up a Working Group which will be entrusted with the preparation, before its 13th plenary meeting, of the draft Opinion for 2018. The members of the Bureau of the CCPE will also attend the CCPE-GT meetings.

Any member of the CCPE who would like to be a member of the Working Group for 2018 should inform the Secretariat before 24 November 2017, 10.00.

•                     Appointment of the CCPE Gender Equality Rapporteur for 2018

According to CM Resolution Res(2011)24 (“Where necessary, in order to expedite the progress of their work, committees may entrust a rapporteur with a specific task to be fulfilled by their next meeting”), the CCPE has to appoint a Gender Equality Rapporteur for 2018.

Any member of the CCPE wishing to put forward his/her candidature as the Gender Equality Rapporteur should inform the Secretariat before 24 November 2017, 10.00.
