Administrative organisation
Social protection in Armenia is administered by the following main institutions:
– The Ministry of Labour and Social Issues is responsible for policy making and implementation in all branches of the labour and social protection system except health care.
– The “State Employment Agency" of the Ministry of Labour and Social Issues with its regional centres is responsible for unemployment benefits and active labour policy implementation.
- The “State Social Security Service” of the Ministry of Labour and Social Issues with its local offices is responsible for granting and payment of social insurance benefits and state pensions.
– The Ministry of Health is responsible for policy making and implementation in health care system.
– The National Healthcare Agencyis responsible for financing of health care system.
