The European Committee for Social Cohesion, Human Dignity and Equality is responsible for overseeing the Council of Europe’s intergovernmental work in the areas mentioned in its title. It will contribute to the protection of human dignity, equality and equal opportunities for all, and the prevention and combating violence and discrimination on any ground, in order to create societies that do not generate exclusion.

- Opening of the meeting
The meeting will be opened at 9.30 am by Mr Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
- Election of the Chair and Bureau

The election of the Chair and the Bureau will take place on 3 June in the afternoon.
- Round Table I: Guaranteeing equality and equal dignity for all
The exchanges under this Round Table will focus on promoting measures to guarantee equality and equal dignity for all and to change the mind-set in society in order to ensure full respect for equality in law and in practice. Gender equality, rights of peoples with disabilities, minorities, as well as LGBT persons will in particular be discussed.
The purpose of the debate will be to identify, within the scope of the Committee’s terms of reference, key topics of relevance to member States that will form the core of its work in 2014-2015.
The discussion on this topic will be introduced by the following keynote panellists:
- Mr Nils Muiznieks, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe;
- Mr Robert BiedroĊ, General Rapporteur on the Rights of LGBT People, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe;
- Ms Carlien Scheele, Directorate for Gender and LGBT Equality, (The Netherlands);
- Professor Feride Acar, Former member of the Ad-hoc Committee on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (CAHVIO);
- Ms Françoise Tulkens, Former Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights, who will moderate the Round Table.

- Round Table II: Making justice accessible for all
The exchanges under this Round Table will serve to identify the obstacles, exchange experience and good practice in addressing this challenge, foster a stronger resolve through sharing experience and good practice.
The discussion on this topic will be introduced by the following keynote panellists:
- Ms Angelika Nussberger, Judge, European Court of Human Rights;
- Ms Françoise Tulkens, Former Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights;
- Mr Morten Kjaerum, Director of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA);
- Mr Nicolas Le Coz, President of the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) of the Council of Europe;
- Mr Stephanos Stavros, Executive Secretary of ECRI who will moderate the Round Table.
